During the use of Google Meet, there are expectations of behavior that must be followed in order to maintain the safety and integrity of those participating.
Below is a list of expectations for students when participating in a Google Meet session. Even though we are not in our school building, our school rules and expectations still apply.
Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Prepared.
Abide by the WCPSS Acceptable Use Policy.
Select an area in your home with enough space for necessary items - books, notebooks, computers, etc.
Arrive on time and stay on for the entire meeting. Sign in on the attendance form so you are counted present.
School appropriate dress is required during participation at all times.
Use the chat for academic purposes ONLY.
Polite and professional language shall be used at all times.
Make sure your background is school friendly.
Mute your device unless you are called on to speak.
Speak in a controlled and clear manner so everyone can hear.
Promptly exit the meeting when the meeting time is over.
Give your best effort online as you would in the classroom.
You do not need to put your camera on if you do not want to do so.
